DREAM Drives Eric Adams from the Mayoral Race (Again)
Calls for investigation into billionaire Trump donors
Having driven Jim Walden from the race, DREAM (Don’t Re-elect Eric or Andrew for Mayor) has succeeded in driving Eric Adams out again as well. Earlier this year, the disgraced Mayor dropped from the Democratic primary soon after DREAM launched its initial campaign and DREAM went on to be the most successful PAC in the primary.
Said the DREAM Campaign: “While we welcome the news that Eric Adams is once again running away to avoid the shame of DREAM beating him outright, let us be clear: his exit is the result of election interference from billionaires trying to buy the election.
Billionaires from Bill Ackman to President Donald Trump have openly attempted to lure Adams out of the race, including offers of money, as well as ambassadorships. While no New Yorker should ever have to be haunted by the threat of a second Eric Adams mayoralty, no New Yorker should also have to fear the ultrarich using their ill-gotten wealth to buy our democracy.
We call on the city and state to investigate possible election interference by the billionaire Trump donors who have publicly said they have been trying to engineer this exact outcome.”
