T&T win five medals at 2023 Pan American Track Cycling

Trinidad and Tobago took home five medals from the 2023 Pan American Track Cycling Championships, which took place in San Juan, Argentina, from 14-18 June.

Nicholas Paul won gold medals in the sprint and the keirin, and teamed up with Quincy Alexander, Kwesi Browne, and Zion Pulido to take silver in the team sprint.

Akil Campbell also won a bronze medal in the Omnium, while Alexi Ramirez won a silver medal in the women’s Omnium.

Paul also broke the track record at the Vicente Alejo Chancay Velodrome in San Juan, with a new best time of 9.439 seconds in the flying 200m.

Trinidad and Tobago’s tally of five medals put the country in fourth place behind Canada (19), Mexico (14) and Columbia (15).
