Police Commissioner Erla Harewood Christopher revealed that Carnival 2024 ran smoothly without any major incidents as police officers stepped up and offered their full support.
Commissioner Harewood-Christopher made the announcement on Carnival Tuesday following the annual Carnival walkabout in downtown and uptown Port-of-Spain where she also commended police officers for staying true to their oath of office.
As she addressed the rumors of perceived manpower shortages with members of the media, the top cop said that up until the time of the tour, there was no indication that police officers had absconded from their duties and that because of their meaningful presence throughout the festivities, events were not interrupted by any form of major disturbances.
