The Abu Dhabi T10 Has Drafted 9 T&T Players For Its 5 Tournament
Trinidad and Tobago players in demand at Abu Dhabi T10 draft
The Maratha Arabians have signed Trinidad and Tobago star Nicholas Pooran as their icon player for the 2021-2022 Abu Dhabi T10 tournament.
Pooran, who captained the Northern Warriors to the title in January 2021, has now joined forces with the 2019 champions.
In total, nine Trinidad and Tobago players have been snapped up by the six teams in the Abu Dhabi T10.
The Players Draft for the fifth edition of the tournament was held on Thursday at Yas Islands in Abu Dhabi.
The Maratha Arabians have taken four Trinidad and Tobago players on their roster (Pooran, Darren Bravo, Mark Deyal, and Tion Webster.)
The 2021 losing finalists, Delhi Bulls, have rostered Dwayne Bravo, Ravi Rampaul, and Akeal Hosein.
Rayad Emrit is with the Northern Warriors, while Evin Lewis has gone over to the Deccan Chargers.
A whopping 22 West Indian players have signed with teams in the Abu Dhabi T10, with superstars Chris Gayle (Team Abu Dhabi) and Andre Russell (Deccan Chargers) in the mix.
The tournament, which is run by the Emirates Cricket Board, is scheduled to run from 19 November to 4 December.
The 2021-2022 Abu Dhabi T10 tournament begins just five days after the ICC T20 World Cup.
