Rihanna and Sean Paul Get Nods for BRIT Awards

LONDON, England, Wednesday January 18, 2017 – Fresh from landing a slew of nominations for the 2017 Grammy Awards and the fourth annual iHeart Radio Music Awards, Barbados’ superstar Rihanna and Jamaica’s dancehall sensation Sean Paul have done the Caribbean proud again with several nods at the forthcoming BRIT Awards.

Rihanna, the only Caribbean national to gain a nomination as a solo artist at the British awards, was nominated in the International Female Solo Artist category. She was in good company, moreover, with fellow nominees including Beyonce and her younger sister Solange.

Rihanna was also recognized for her collaboration with Calvin Harris on the Taylor Swift-penned This Is What You Came For in both the Best British Single and British Artist Video of the Year categories.

Sean Paul was recognized for his collaboration with Clean Bandit and Anne-Marie on Rockabye in both the British Single and Video of the Year categories.

The Jamaican Cheap Thrills hitmaker also received a nod for his collaboration with Little Mix on Hair in the Video of the Year category.

The Brits will be broadcast live on February 22.
