With the Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) backing West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) president Dave Cameron for a third term in office, local officials are also throwing their support behind the Jamaican.

RJR Sports broke last week that the Jamaica Cricket Association has decided to throw its support behind Cameron, after the West Indies Cricket Board president signalled his intentions earlier this month of running for a third term in office.

JCA executives at their monthly meeting in January had deferred making a decision on backing Cameron, requesting a meeting with the WICB president.

In addition to the JCA’s decision to now back Cameron, some local officials are also giving the nod to the Jamaican.

These officials include St Ann Cricket Association president Keith Walford, coach of Kensington Cricket Club Robert Haynes and the JCA’s women’s cricket co-ordinator Dorothy Hobson.
