Consulate General of Saint Lucia in New York to Host Immigration Forum

New York, NY (April 25, 2017) – In light of recent US actions regarding its immigration policies, which have raised concerns among many Saint Lucian nationals, the Consulate General of Saint Lucia in New York has organized an immigration forum to address this pressing issue. This event is slated for Wednesday, April 26, 2017, starting at 7 PM, at the Saint Lucia House, located at 438 East 49th Street (between Church and Snyder Avenues) in Brooklyn, New York.

This year’s Immigration Forum will feature an open panel discussion on a number of topics, including:

  1. New US immigration reform policies
  2. Citizenship/permanent residency concerns
  3. Deferred Action on Childhood Arrivals (DACA)
  4. Available resources for immigrants
  5. Immigration fraud prevention
  6. Other assorted immigration-related issues

Additionally, this event will include formal presentations by New York City-based immigration lawyers, immigration experts, non-governmental organizations, community stakeholders, and other partnering agencies, as the Consulate seeks to provide guidance to its nationals.

Saint Lucia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, His Excellency Cosmos Richardson, will also be in attendance to address the gathering.

The Consulate encourages Saint Lucians and interested persons in the New York City area to attend this very important forum, one that is sure to be very informative.
