HISTORY MADE IN 2021 TOBAGO ELECTION

PDP declares historic victory in THA election

Possible 15-0 victory if results maintain pattern

The Progressive Democratic Patriots (PDP) have declared victory in the December 6, Tobago House of Assembly election.

Preliminary results indicate that the PDP went away with a staggering nine out of a possible 15 seats. In fact, if election night patterns are maintained, the PDP could attain a 15-0 sweep.

There’s a tie in the Plymouth/Black Rock district where the PDP and the People’s National Movement (PNM) both have 229 votes. The Innovative Democratic Alliance could provide a tiebreaker with the three votes they were able to garner in that district.

The PDP has declared the following seats:

Dr Faith B Yisrael – Belle Garden/Glamorgan

Joel ‘Nuttsy’ Sampson – Bon Accord/Crown Point

Sonny Craig – Buccoo/Mt Pleasant

Abby Taylor – Darrel Spring/Whim

Wayne ’Wasp’ Clarke – Lambeau/Lowlands

Ian ‘Whitey’ Pollard – Mason Hall/Moriah

Farley Augustine – Speyside/L’Anse Fourmi/Parlatuvier

Niall George – Plymouth/Black Rock

Watson Duke – Roxborough/Argyle

For now, all results remain preliminary, but PNM Political Leader – Tobago Council, Tracy Davidson Celestine conceded defeat just after 10pm on 12/6/21.
